Or is your sleep resolution for this year just to see the inside of your eyelids longer than just for a few hours each night?</p>
<p>Whether the promise you’re making to yourself is any of the above or it’s something totally different, chances are you’re in need of a better night’s sleep. A restful night under the covers produces more good than any other one thing you may do. In order to function properly your body requires a period of rest.</p>
<p>Let’s look at a few New Year’s sleep resolutions that can add some zip to your life:</p>
<p><strong>Sleep Resolution 1:</strong> I will go to bed at the same time every night, weekends included, and get out of bed at the same time every morning.</p>

<p>Exercising or eating too late sabotages your body&#8217;s urge to sleep.</p>
<p>&#8220;Both exercise and eating raises your heart rate and temperature,&#8221; White tells WebMD. &#8220;That&#8217;s not conducive to sleeping.&#8221;</p>
<p>Find what works best for you when it comes time to exercise. Either a good routine in the morning starts your motor efficiently or a brisk walk at noon or after an early dinner can help keep you healthy.
